1Introduction

This privacy policy applies to the mobile application and platform Wasla — Services en Algérie (hereinafter “Wasla” or “the App”), developed and published by Brahimi Samy.

Wasla — Services en Algérie is a mobile services marketplace connecting clients and professionals (workers) in Algeria. This policy sets out:

  • The data collected through the app (phone, location, profile, messages, etc.);
  • How that data is used to make matches and run the platform;
  • Users’ rights over their personal data.

3Data We Collect

3.1 Authentication and profile data

When you create and set up your account, we collect:

Phone number (+213)Full nameGenderWilaya and CommuneProfile picture (optional)

For Professionals (Workers)

We also collect: your bio, account type (individual or business), the service categories and subcategories you offer, your social links (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X), and an optional Google Maps link to your place of business.

3.2 Data related to using the service

To run the matchmaking service, we process:

  • Service requests (Connects): description, photos, and attached files
  • Job Listings (open requests) and Worker applications: description, budget, location, photos
  • Content and media in Posts created by workers
  • Messages exchanged in the built-in messenger (text, images, audio, files), plus delivery and read receipts
  • Reviews you leave (rating, comment, photos) and your history of sent and received requests
  • Your favorites list and the reports you submit

3.3 Technical data

We collect your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to send you push notifications about your service requests and messages, as well as your session token (stored encrypted on your device) to keep you securely signed in.

3.4 Usage Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage (screens viewed, actions taken) in aggregate, to improve the service. This data is processed by Google as a data processor.

4Purposes of Processing

Matchmaking

Let clients find professionals in their wilaya/commune and send them detailed service requests, or respond to their job listings.

Authentication

Secure access to the app via an SMS OTP system on your phone number.

Communication

Enable exchanges between client and worker via messaging, and inform you in real time of new requests, status changes, and messages.

Trust and Safety

Display reviews, handle reports, and allow blocking of users to keep a reliable environment.

Service Improvement

Manage favorites, history, and analyze aggregate app usage to improve it.

Billing

Process Worker subscriptions (Packs) and the related payment history.

5Data Sharing

Wasla does not sell any personal data. Your data is shared only in the following cases:

  • With the other party in a match (e.g., a Worker sees the details of a request sent to them; your name and photo are visible to your messaging contacts).
  • With Google/Firebase, as a technical processor, for authentication, push notifications, and usage analytics.
  • Payments for services rendered (BaridiMob, CIB, Flexy, PayPal) are made directly between Client and Worker — Wasla is not a party to these transactions and stores no payment-method banking data.
  • With competent authorities, only where required by Algerian law.

6Data Retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, the account is placed in a 30-day pending-deletion state (during which signing back in cancels the request), after which your personal data is permanently deleted from our servers.

7User Rights

Right of access and correction

You can access and edit your data at any time directly from the app, in the “Profile” tab via the Edit Profile section.

Right to deletion

You can request permanent deletion of your account and data from the app’s settings; a 30-day grace period lets you reactivate your account if you change your mind.

Managing device permissions

When you sign out, your FCM token is deregistered from our servers, stopping push notifications. You also retain control over the camera and photo library permissions granted to Wasla from your phone’s settings.
